CABBAGE MOONGDAL THORAN


Ingredients:
Cabbage (chopped) - 2 cups
Moongdal (yellow) - 2 tbsp
Green chilli - 2 nos
Coconut - 3 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Orid dal - 1 tsp
Salt
Tumeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Curry leaf - 1 sprig
Red chilli(whole) - 1no
oil

Method:
Soak moongdal for 15-20 mins. Half cook the moongdal.
Now add cabbage,salt and tumeric powder and cook till cabbage done.(moong dal should not be mushy)
Meanwhile, grind coconut and green chilli coarsely. Add this to cabbage and cook for 1-2 min.
Heat oil and add mustard,orid dal,red chilli and season it.
Add seasoning and curry leaf to cabbage thoran/poriyal.
Serve hot with rice.
